I’ve been reading Cubicle Chic lately and really enjoying it. It’s actually an idea that I had totally independently of discovering this blog. But now I’ve found it, a large part of me is happy that I can just sit back at work and read it rather than commit to doing a blog like that myself.
Needless to say, it inspired me to corporate-up my generally casual-ish work attire. Not that I dress shlubby to work, far from, but with the weather being what it is, I’m usually wearing a sundress, a cute pair of heels and a statement ring.
This weekend I went UBER shopping with my fabulous friend Jessica and bought a great pencil skirt at Uniqlo in Soho. So today, with a little inspiration from my new favorite blog, I went super profesh for work. Gray pencil skirt, bright pink button-down tucked in, pair of tomato red heels and matching lipstick (color block, much?). And I SHOULD REALLY DRESS LIKE THIS MORE OFTEN - because candidates have been ALL OVER me today. Is there something about professionalism that turns starving artists on? Maybe it’s the unattainability. Haha. I shouldn’t talk, I’m just a starving artist in disguise.
I’m still kind of inspired to piece together sweet outfits and share them, but I’m so damn lazy. Plus with Summerscape coming up, I will not be dressing very fashionably for 6 weeks. Something about the sticky, buggy catskills really takes the well-dressed gene out of me.
Only 2 more weeks and then I’m off! Counting down the days. I need a vacation. And even though I’ll be working, this certainly will suffice.
